Vodafone Spanish SIM card - Mobile phonesBy using roaming on your existing mobile phone (cellular) you can receive calls in Spain (as long as your provider has roaming enabled for you and the phone works on a GSM network), but you will be paying for an international call to Spain every time someone calls you. This is very expensive and unless you have a lot of cash, bad news! The cheapest solution is to get a Spanish mobile as soon as possible, text the number to everyone you know and then just pick-up voicemail from your old phone. If you have a GSM phone (i.e. the technology used everywhere in the world except North America, some South American & Far East countries and a few others) you can normally use a Spanish SIM card in your existing phone and not have to buy a new one. However, you do need to ensure that your phone can be used on other networks and it not locked (such as some Orange mobile phones for example). Using this Just Landed service, we can get you set up before you leave home or end your roaming pain in Spain before you get your first bill (and heart attack). Having a Spanish SIM card is also useful if you are resident only part of the time in Spain - as long as you charge a Vodafone SIM Card up once every 12 months you can keep the same mobile number and you call credit does not expire (Movistar mobiles - 7 months).
